LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Britney Spears left a hospital on Saturday where she was admitted following a confrontation at her home, which ended in a fit of hysterics by the troubled pop star, several media outlets reported.

A number of celebrity Web sites said Spears was visited Saturday by Dr. Phil McGraw, who counsels people on his popular television program, “The Dr. Phil Show.”

A spokeswoman for the hospital, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, declined comment citing patient confidentiality, and a representative for McGraw could not be reached.

Spears, 26, was hospitalized on Friday when trouble erupted between her and representatives of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, who went to Spears’ home to pick up their two young sons from a weekend visitation.

The pop singer, who spent much of 2007 in and out of alcohol and drug rehab and battling legal problems, became hysterical, was taken from her home on a stretcher and transported to Cedars-Sinai via ambulance, television and Web sites reported.

Federline’s attorneys went to a Los Angeles family court on Friday and obtained a ruling that suspended Spears’ visitation rights to her two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, until January 14.

On Saturday, celebrity Web site reported that Spears was demanding to leave the hospital, and that she might appear on “The Dr. Phil Show” on Monday.

Web sites for celebrity TV shows “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” reported that McGraw walked Spears to her car. The New York Post’s cited a “family insider” as saying Spears had “a complete nervous breakdown.”

None of the reports could be confirmed.

Spears lost primary custody of her sons to Federline after her life spun out of control following their divorce in November 2006.

Since then, she has spent time in rehab, been charged with hit-and-run driving and exhibited unusual behavior.

Spears is currently undergoing court-ordered random drug and alcohol tests and parenting lessons.

She became a teen pop phenomenon in the 1990s. In October, she made her musical comeback with the single, “Gimme More,” and an album, “Blackout,” that briefly hit No. 2 on the U.S. pop album charts.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hotel heiress Paris Hilton’s potential inheritance dramatically diminished after her grandfather Barron Hilton announced plans on Wednesday to donate 97 percent of his $2.3 billion fortune to charity.

That wealth includes $1.2 billion Barron Hilton stands to earn from both the recent sale of Hilton Hotels Corp. — started by his father Conrad in 1919 when he bought a small hotel in Cisco, Texas — and pending sale of the world’s biggest casino company, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.

That money will be placed in a charitable trust that will eventually benefit the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, raising its total value to about $4.5 billion, the foundation said in a statement.

Barron Hilton, chairman of the foundation, intends “to contribute 97 percent of his entire net worth, estimated today at $2.3 billion, including the created trusts, at whatever value it is at the time of his passing,” the foundation said.

Paris Hilton was not immediately available for comment on her grandfather’s plans for his fortune.

Jerry Oppenheimer, who profiled the Hilton family in his 2006 book “House of Hilton,” has said Barron Hilton is embarrassed by the behavior of his socialite granddaughter Paris and believes it has sullied the family name.

Barron Hilton, who is 80, has not commented on Oppenheimer’s remarks.

The foundation supports projects that provide clean water in Africa, education for blind children, and housing for the mentally ill. Its aims, based on Conrad Hilton’s will, are “to relieve the suffering, the distressed and the destitute.”

“Speaking for the family as well as the foundation, we are all exceedingly proud and grateful for this extraordinary commitment,” said Steven Hilton, one of Barron’s sons and president and chief executive of the foundation.

Conrad Hilton established the foundation in 1944 and when he died in 1979 left virtually all of his fortune — including, according to media reports at the time, a 27 percent controlling stake in Hilton Hotels — to the charity.

But Barron Hilton challenged the will and after a nearly decade-long legal struggle reached an out-of-court settlement to split ownership of the shares with the foundation in 1988, The New York Times reported.

The hotel group was sold for $20 billion in October to private equity firm Blackstone Group, while the acquisition of Harrah’s — of which Barron Hilton was a board member until 2006 — is due to be completed by Apollo Management and TPG Capital in early 2008.

Paris, a symbol of celebrity privilege in America, gained notoriety in 2003 when a home video of her having sex with a boyfriend was posted on the Internet.

She parlayed her notoriety, fueled by tabloid headlines about her partying lifestyle, into a celebrity career that has included a reality television show, a book, a music album, and film roles. Then this year she spent more than three weeks in jail for violating probation in a drunk-driving case.

The purpose of the site is to reunite found mittens and gloves with their rightful owners. Will New Yorkers warm up to the concept? Who knows. But the site’s appearance does follow last month’s successful introduction of the original OneColdHand.com by Jennifer Gooch, who is working on her master’s degree in art Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Nicolas Cage’s adventure sequel “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” raced to $65 million during its first five days of release across North America, distributor Walt Disney Pictures said on Tuesday.

The tally consists of actual sales for the four days since the film opened last Friday, and a Christmas day estimate. Final sales data will be issued on Wednesday.

Through December 24, the film had also earned $27.5 million in 17 international markets, mostly in Asia. The critically maligned sequel to the 2004 smash “National Treasure” stars Cage as a treasure hunter who flies around the world trying to solve an ancient puzzle related to Lincoln’s assassination.

Will Smith’s sci-fi thriller “I Am Legend” was No. 2 with five-day sales of $47.5 million, taking its 12-day haul to $150.8 million, said Warner Bros. Pictures.

Because of the holiday, data for many films were incomplete. Twentieth Century Fox reported a four-day tally of $32.8 million for its surprise hit “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” saying it was impossible to estimate Christmas Day sales. After 11 days, the kids film has earned $88.7 million.

The fact-based political comedy “Charlie Wilson’s War” earned $14.75 million, and the Johnny Depp musical “Sweeney Todd” $12.75 million, both after five days. Their respective studios, Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures, warned that the Christmas Day components were rough guesses.

The box office jury is still out on “Charlie Wilson,” a high-profile vehicle starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, which is playing in twice as many theaters as “Sweeney Todd,” which DreamWorks co-produced with Warner Bros.

Further down the rankings, “P.S. I Love You” had earned $9.1 million in its first five days. After a low-key opening weekend, Warner Bros. said it hoped more women would turn out in force for the Hilary Swank tearjerker now that Christmas-related chores are behind them.

The musical spoof “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” reported a four-day haul of $4.7 million. Distributor Columbia Pictures did not have a Christmas Day estimate for the box office disappointment.

Midfield rankings will change when final data are issued Wednesday because they will include sales for three Christmas Day releases: the action sequel “Alien vs. Predator: Requiem,” the Denzel Washington drama “The Great Debaters,” and the family fantasy “The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep.”

Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe told reporters on Thursday, he doesn’t believe the “…Baby One More Time” star is in the right shape to serve as a celebrity mentor for the singing hopefuls.

“Britney at this moment, I don’t think is well enough to do anything and I think she needs looking after rather than being pushed in front of the cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras,” Lythgoe said. “I thinks she needs to get herself together, bless her.”

“I would have had Britney Spears last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again,” he said.

Joanie might have loved Chachi, but he has the hots for another woman.

Erstwhile Happy Days denizen and infamous Playboy Mansion troller Scott Baio gave up his single status on Saturday, tying the knot with longtime steady Renee Sloan.

Paparazzi photos showed the couple swapping vows atop the roof of a Los Angeles high rise.

And while the matrimony belies the premise of the former child star’s VH1 reality series, Scott Baio Is 45…and Single, the ceremony was captured by cameras for the second season, according to People.

The show, which costars Baio wingman and Wonder Years alum Jason Hervey, launched last summer with a seven-episode run. The premise: Longtime lothario Baio, who has hooked up with everyone from his Happy Days onscreen love Erin Moran to such Hollywood hotties as Pamela Anderson, Heather Locklear and Denise Richards, hires a life coach to help overcome his commitment phobia.

Of course, the “reality” of the show was virtually undermined from the getgo, once E! Online’s Ted Casablanca confirmed that Baio not only had been dating model-actress Sloan on and off for a decade but she was pregnant with his child.

Baio, whose credits also include Bugsy Malone and Charles in Charge, and Sloan first met in the 1990s during one of his regular excursions to the Playboy Mansion. Sloan, who turns 35 on Dec. 24, has an 18-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Apparently, the new season of the show will deal with the birth of their daughter—who was born last month but whose name has not yet been announced—and their marriage.

No word whether will VH1 plans on changing the title of the show. Aside from no longer being single, Baio turned 46 in September

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two-time “Dancing With the Stars” champ Julianne Hough has signed a record deal with Universal Music Group and is expected to release a country single in early 2008.

Hough, 19, will be on the company’s Mercury Records label, said Universal Music Group spokeswoman Amber Williams. She’s expected to begin recording the album in Nashville early next month with producer David Malloy, Williams said.

Hough won the past two seasons of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” with celebrity partners Apolo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves.

She released a country single, “Will You Dance With Me,” on iTunes in May.
